The guide

The Science Museum is meant to be used by a broad audience. Therefor not all the information included in the Science Museum is useful to everybody. Just as in a real museum, it is a good idea to make a guided tour through the museum. We developed a virtual guide. This is a software agent which guides the students through the course and also includes some additional tools.

Advantages of the guide

It is possible to provide extra information for the students in a very easy way

With the guide you can develop different course with the same material. (see figure)

The guide

The figure below shows a screendump with the guide. The guide provides buttons for navigation, but also course support (faq, threated discussionlists, ...)

To try the guide, it is necessary to install a plugin for java 1.2. (follow this link to see how to do this)
